Turn Hard-To-Find Candidates Into Happy-To-Be-Hired Employees

Challenge:

Based in Orlando, Florida, Quest Inc. provides services for children and adults with disabilities throughout Central Florida. From a variety of residential and employment options, to behavioral therapy and even a recreational summer camp, Quest serves more than 1,000 individuals on any given day. Recently the company was tasked with finding 10-15 Quality Mental Retardation Specialists for their Florida facilities. After running ads, posting jobs on the Internet, and using recruiters, Quest was left discouraged and without a QMRS to fill their needs.

"Finding a professional developmental disabilities specialist is quite an undertaking," said Inez Hughes, PHR., Quest's Human Resources Director for the Tampa Region. "Although many candidates may meet the minimum standards, few possess the skill level and ability to perform this difficult job. In the past we have advertised in many newspapers, trade publications, and job posting websites...to no avail."

That's when Hughes turned to RCI Recruitment Solutions.

Solution:

RCI Talent Locator allowed Quest to search virtually the entire Internet to identify each and every candidate who specifically matched the skill sets and background that Quest needed. Through this process, RCI pulled the resumes of specially selected candidates from the web at a record pace and built a database of the qualified, skilled candidates who fit Quest's specific criteria.

Taking it a step further, RCI's team of professionally trained screeners meticulously viewed the data of each resume, narrowed down the list of selected candidates, and assured that they had exactly what Hughes needed to make a hire.

"Our goal was to fill their pipeline with the right people," said RCI Project Manager Kris Landry-Ross. "Therefore, we forwarded only the final selection of screened resumes to Quest."

Result:

Quest made a hire from the first batch of resumes only two weeks after starting the project with RCI. It was the first time that ever happened for the company.

Hughs said, "By the time I agreed to utilize the services of RCI, my expectations were not that great, but at that point in the recruiting effort, I didn't have much to lose. I was amazed at the number of excellent candidates I received. RCI screened the applicants for me and all I had to do was refer them for interview. I would recommend RCI to any employer, any industry, any position, at any time,"

Quest has since commissioned RCI for three more projects, which are currently ongoing.
