Executive Summary: Recruitment & Retention Efforts

What the previous three questions tell us is that companies are spending less on recruitment while still utilizing traditional methods. Looking at question six, 58.8% of respondents always incorporate job postings and/or banners as part of their recruiting strategy, followed by 35.5% utilizing ERP.

But 40-45% of your hires should be coming from your Employee Referral Program. With more and more QUALITY candidates being active AND passive job seekers, “reverse posting” and/or direct sourcing should be your #1 method of recruiting, but this should be followed closely by a well-promoted, online Employee Referral Program.

Social Networking, Search Engine Marketing, and Relationship Marketing are all excellent ways to attract the passive candidate. But job postings and banners on job boards are nothing more than “online classifieds.” Although they should be included in the overall strategy, they should not be the main focus of a strategy.

Question 7 asks which recruitment methods have been the most successful, and it’s no surprise that since the majority of respondents said they utilize job postings and banners that the majority would also have answered that this method is excellent.
